DAWES ACCOUNTANTS
Helping a family accountancy firm look as modern as it feels
OUR WORK > DAWES ACCOUNTANTS
Brand transformation, website design and joined-up marketing
Dawes Accountants has never fitted the stereotype of a traditional accountancy practice.
Behind the numbers is a friendly, family-run team that speaks plainly, takes a genuine interest in its clients and helps businesses plan for the future.
But its branding and website didn’t reflect that experience.
We helped Dawes move away from a dated, conventional identity and create a brighter, more approachable brand that could work consistently across its website, offices, marketing and everyday communications.
The result was a professional new presence that generated enquiries almost immediately and gave the business a stronger foundation for everything that came next.
The project at a glance

Goal: Modernise the practice, attract new clients and create a consistent brand capable of supporting future growth
A modern business held back by an outdated identity
Dawes Accountants, formerly A.G. Dawes Chartered Accountants, was already built on considerable experience.
Founder Ashley Dawes had spent decades running a successful accountancy practice, while the arrival of the next generation brought fresh ideas and new ambitions for the business.
When Jamie joined the family firm, it became clear that the way Dawes presented itself needed to change.
The existing website had been built using a free platform and was no longer fit for purpose. The wider identity also felt more like a traditional accountancy practice than the warm, approachable and forward-thinking team behind it.
Jamie had started exploring the project with another designer, but the ideas weren’t quite landing and the costs were beginning to grow.
Following a recommendation from another accountancy firm we had worked with, he came to us looking for a different approach.
Looking beyond the original website brief
Dawes needed a better website, but replacing the website alone would not solve the wider problem.
The identity needed to communicate professionalism and trust without becoming predictable, corporate or cold. It had to appeal to established businesses while also feeling welcoming to people starting a business or looking for more personal support.
We took a step back and considered the entire customer experience.
How should the business look? How should it make people feel? What would distinguish Dawes from other accountancy practices? How could the same identity work across a website, office signage, printed materials, advertising and future locations?
By looking at the business as a whole, we could create more than a collection of individual designs.
We could build one connected brand.
Moving beyond the traditional accountant look
We created a fresh visual identity that balanced professionalism with warmth and personality.
The updated logo, colour palette and supporting design elements gave Dawes a more modern and approachable presence without losing the credibility people expect from a firm of Chartered Accountants.
The new identity felt confident and established, but not intimidating.
It reflected the way the Dawes team actually works: friendly, straightforward and genuinely interested in helping clients understand their finances and grow their businesses.
With that foundation in place, every other part of the project could begin telling the same story.
Creating a website that worked harder
The new website needed to do more than explain the services Dawes offered.
It had to reassure potential clients, make accountancy feel more accessible and give people clear reasons to begin a conversation.
We created a mobile-friendly website with straightforward navigation, stronger calls to action and clearer routes into the different services.
The structure and content were also developed with search visibility in mind, supported by improved keywords, page speed and SEO foundations.
The result was a website that felt more like the business behind it and made it easier for potential clients to understand how Dawes could help.
Within days of launching, the website began generating new client enquiries.
Carrying the brand through every touchpoint
A brand only becomes recognisable when it is used consistently.
We brought the new Dawes identity into brochures, client welcome packs, social media graphics, business cards, posters and targeted print advertising.
External signage helped establish a stronger professional presence at the Dawes offices, while branded clothing and merchandise gave the growing team another way to represent the business consistently.
Each element had its own purpose, but together they created one joined-up experience.
Whether someone discovered Dawes online, saw an advert, visited an office or met a member of the team, they encountered the same distinctive and approachable business.
What changed
A brand that reflected the real business
The new identity moved Dawes away from the traditional accountant look and gave the firm a warmer, brighter and more distinctive personality.
A website that generated opportunities
Clearer messaging, stronger calls to action and improved SEO foundations made it easier for potential clients to find Dawes, understand its services and get in touch.
One consistent customer experience
The website, signage, advertising, print and everyday communications began working together as part of one connected and recognisable brand.
From a dated identity to a brand ready for growth
Dawes Accountants emerged with a brand that felt much closer to the business it had become.
The new identity captured the warmth and personality of the team while retaining the professionalism and credibility clients needed to see.
The website began generating enquiries within days of launching, demonstrating the difference that clearer messaging and a stronger customer journey could make.
The wider suite of marketing materials also gave Dawes the consistency it needed to promote the business confidently, strengthen its physical presence and support future growth.
What began as a conversation about replacing an outdated website became a complete transformation of how the business looked, communicated and presented itself.
“You get more than a website or a logo… you get someone who considers your whole marketing strategy.
