ITSSO TRAVEL
Helping a personal travel business look more like itself
OUR WORK > ITSSO TRAVEL
Brand refresh, campaign design and joined-up local marketing
Claire and Paul take the time to understand what their customers want, share their knowledge and create holidays that feel personal from the very beginning.
But their branding didn’t quite capture that warmth. It felt more corporate than the experience customers received, while footfall and enquiries were not where they wanted them to be.
What began as a conversation about marketing soon revealed a bigger opportunity: to give ItsSo Travel a friendlier, more distinctive identity and use it to create a campaign that would get the business noticed.
The result was a brand with more personality, stronger local visibility and a business that went on to grow from one Torquay shop to two.
The project at a glance
Client: ItsSo Travel
Sector: Travel and tourism
Support: Marketing strategy, brand refresh, campaign design, print and social media
Goal: Increase local visibility, footfall and enquiries while creating a brand that felt more personal
A personal service hidden behind corporate branding
Claire and Paul first came to us for a Marketing Power Hour. Their independent travel agency in St Marychurch offered friendly, knowledgeable and highly personal support, but they needed fresh ideas to bring more people through the door and generate more enquiries.
As we explored ways to improve their visibility, Paul asked what we thought of their logo.
The existing identity was neat and professional, but it felt more corporate than the business behind it. It didn’t reflect Claire and Paul’s personalities, their enthusiasm for travel or the care they put into finding the right holiday for each customer.
The problem wasn’t that the brand was badly designed.
It simply didn’t feel enough like them.
Finding the opportunity behind the original brief
We began by looking beyond individual marketing activities and considering how ItsSo Travel appeared as a whole.
If the campaign was going to attract attention, the brand needed to support it. It had to feel friendly, approachable and full of the same sense of possibility that customers experience when planning a holiday.
Rather than replacing everything, we identified how a few thoughtful changes could give the existing identity more warmth and personality.
This created a stronger foundation for the marketing campaign and helped every piece of communication feel more recognisably ItsSo Travel.
Refreshing the brand without losing its identity
We refined the existing logo rather than starting again.
A smile was introduced within the design, creating a simple visual expression of the happiness and excitement associated with travel. We also brought in two colours to represent the partnership behind the business and give the identity a friendlier, more distinctive feel.
The refreshed brand still felt familiar, but it now had more character.
Most importantly, it felt much closer to Claire and Paul and the personal service their customers already knew and valued.
Taking the new identity into the local community
With the refreshed branding in place, we developed a campaign designed to increase awareness, enquiries and visits to the St Marychurch shop.
We created four different leaflets, each built around contrasting holiday ideas. From relaxing all-inclusive escapes to adventurous experiences, the campaign demonstrated that ItsSo Travel could help different people find the holiday that was right for them.
The leaflets were distributed across Torbay and supported by a coordinated social media campaign.
By connecting the printed and digital activity, we gave the campaign greater consistency and helped local customers encounter the same recognisable message in more than one place.
What changed
A friendlier, more distinctive brand
The refined logo and dual-colour identity brought more warmth and personality to the business, helping the brand better reflect Claire and Paul’s personal approach.
One joined-up local campaign
Printed leaflets and social media content worked together, giving ItsSo Travel a clearer and more consistent presence both online and within the local community.
Greater visibility and room to grow
The campaign helped ItsSo Travel attract more customers and strengthen its local profile. Since our original work together, the business has expanded from its St Marychurch shop to a second location by Torquay Harbour.
“They have saved us so much time and done a better job than we could have ever hoped to do.”
A brand that smiles back
ItsSo Travel now has an identity that feels much more like the people behind it: friendly, knowledgeable, approachable and genuinely excited about helping customers explore the world.
The refreshed brand gave the marketing campaign a stronger foundation, while the combination of leaflets and social media helped the business connect with more people across Torbay.
What began with a conversation about increasing footfall became an opportunity to create a brand that better reflected the heart of the business.
“Sometimes, it only takes a few thoughtful changes to help the right personality shine through.”
Does your brand still feel like your business?
You may not need to throw everything away and begin again.
Sometimes, a carefully considered refresh can bring more personality into your brand, create greater consistency and help your marketing work much harder.
If your business has evolved but your branding hasn’t quite kept up, let’s talk it through.
